Celebrate the Arts is set to bring together local arts groups in Plano, located about 18 miles north of Dallas, for an annual showcase organized by Collaborative Arts of Plano. This event will take place at the Courtyard Theater on August 15, featuring two distinct segments to accommodate families.
The children's matinee, designed for younger audiences, will kick off at 2:30 p.m. It will include stage performances, along with interactive art activities in the lobby and a hands-on experience where children can try various musical instruments. Tickets for the matinee are priced at $10.
Later in the evening, starting at 7 p.m., the showcase will present 20 performances from member organizations, complemented by speeches from civic leaders. This variety-style program will include music, dance, theater, and visual art, with an exhibition available for viewing beforehand. Evening tickets are available for $20 and include access to an afterparty featuring a DJ, wine, snacks, and opportunities to meet the performers.
Collaborative Arts of Plano, or CAP, is a nonprofit organization formed in 2015, which now includes 27 member organizations. Its mission focuses on establishing Plano as a vibrant and inclusive arts hub, showcasing the breadth of the city’s cultural offerings.
