Fort Worth law enforcement officials dismantled an unauthorized fireworks operation on July 3, targeting a location at the intersection of East Barry and Donalee streets. The action followed an investigation triggered by tips received by the department regarding the online promotion of fireworks.
Investigators traced the advertised items to the specific address, leading officers to the site. They were supported by personnel from the Fort Worth Fire Department’s Bomb and Arson unit during the operation. Authorities confiscated a significant amount of fireworks that were allegedly being prepared for unlawful sale and distribution within the city limits.
Fort Worth is situated approximately 31 miles west of Dallas. The city prohibits the setting off of fireworks within its boundaries, a regulation that can lead to penalties of up to $2,000 for violators.
In a statement shared on social media, the police department emphasized the dangers associated with unauthorized pyrotechnics. Officials noted that such items threaten neighborhood safety, endanger first responders, and pose risks to private property. The department stated it would maintain strict enforcement of city ordinances and pursue accountability for those who break the rules.
A separate message from the department urged residents to consider the potential harm to pets, property, and community members before igniting any fireworks. The department expressed a desire to ensure the city remains safe and enjoyable for all residents.
