Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko has confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the entire 2026 season due to a lower-body injury sustained during practice. Williams will undergo surgery as part of his recovery process.
Williams was absent from the season opener against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines. His injury is part of a troubling trend for the Aggies, as he becomes the third wide receiver unavailable before the season begins. Earlier, Jonah Wilson was removed from the roster after transferring from Houston, and Jerome Myles was also dismissed from the program due to personal reasons.
In light of Williams' absence, Texas A&M will depend on its remaining wide receivers, including Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass. Additionally, Kelshaun Johnson and TK Norman will have increased chances for playing time, with Johnson recording three catches for 25 yards in the game against Missouri State.
The coaching staff will assess the depth chart for wide receivers in the upcoming games before facing LSU in Baton Rouge.
