The Houston Texans have announced the signing of running back Deuce Vaughn, who previously played for the Denver Broncos. Vaughn, who stands at 5 feet 5 inches and weighs 185 pounds, was with the Broncos' practice squad for the entirety of the 2025 season after joining in September of the previous year.
He re-signed with Denver on a reserve/future contract in January but was released in May. Vaughn subsequently joined the UFL's Orlando Storm before returning to the NFL with the Texans.
To accommodate Vaughn's signing, the Texans have waived wide receiver Juwann Winfree, who also previously played for the Broncos. In addition, Houston conducted workouts with former Broncos receiver Josh Reynolds and running back Blake Watson, as reported by the NFL's transaction wire.
Four other former Broncos practice squad players remain unsigned as free agents following the expiration of their contracts in February. These players include quarterback Ben DiNucci, tight ends Marcedes Lewis and Patrick Murtagh, and defensive back Delarrin Turner-Yell.
