This action follows the newspaper's coverage of a locker room incident that involved Jacob Fields and Dozie Noble Ezukanma, who suffered a brain bleed, leading to Fields being charged with aggravated assault.
Despite the revocation, the Star-Telegram continued its reporting on the matter, emphasizing its role as an independent news source. TCU Athletics acknowledged this commitment in a statement, indicating a desire to move forward.
The Horned Frogs' season commenced with a loss to North Carolina, 15-10, in Ireland. They are set to play against Grambling State on September 12. The initial decision to suspend the Star-Telegram's credentials was said to be connected to threats made against Ezukanma, although the newspaper clarified that it did not disclose his identity following the incident.
With the reinstatement, the Star-Telegram will regain full access to media areas at TCU games.
