Alejandro Villegas, 32, of Fort Worth, has been designated as Texas’s July Featured Fugitive by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The agency announced that the reward for information leading to his arrest has been increased to $6,000 for tips received during the month of July.

Villegas is wanted in Tarrant County for a probation violation linked to an original charge of sexual assault of a child. A warrant for his arrest was also issued in March 2026 by the Fort Worth Police Department for failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements. Fort Worth is located approximately 31 miles west of Dallas.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Villegas was previously arrested by the Arlington Police Department in 2017 for robbery and sentenced to 36 months of probation. He was arrested again in 2022 by the Grand Prairie Police Department following an incident involving a 16-year-old girl. He was convicted of sexual assault of a child and received 96 months of probation.

The Department of Public Safety describes Villegas as being 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He has ties to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides cash rewards for information leading to the arrest of individuals on the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders, or Criminal Illegal Immigrants lists. The Department of Public Safety reported that 44 people have been arrested from these lists so far in 2026, including 32 sex offenders and eight gang members. A total of $61,500 in rewards has been paid for tips that led to these arrests.

Individuals with information are encouraged to submit tips anonymously through one of three methods: calling 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), submitting a web tip through the Department of Public Safety website, or submitting a tip through Facebook using the “SUBMIT A TIP” link. Tipsters are assigned a tip number rather than using their name to maintain anonymity.

Details regarding Villegas’s current whereabouts or the specific circumstances of his probation violation are not yet clear.
