Fort Worth, located approximately 31 miles west of Dallas, is hosting a series of summer concerts featuring a mix of local talent and national acts. The lineup includes performances by established local artists, jazz musicians, and student groups from the School of Rock.
Cynthia Acebo, a live sound engineer known in the Fort Worth music community, will perform at The Post for her third annual birthday show. The event takes place on July 11 at 8 p.m. at 2736 W. 6th St. Acebo will be accompanied by a full band for the performance. Admission is priced at $14.06.
Jazz clarinetist Quamon Fowler will present two shows at Scat Jazz Lounge on July 18. Fowler, a winner of the North American Saxophone Alliance Jazz Competition, studied under legendary clarinetist Alvin Batiste. The performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. at 111 W. 4th St. Tickets cost $18.14.
Fort Worth natives Hilary Tipps and Steve Obermiller will celebrate the release of their third studio album, Little Kid Heart, at Southside Preservation Hall. The duo, who have been collaborating since 2011, will perform their Americana music with a full band. The event occurs on July 19 at 5 p.m. at 1519 Lipscomb St. Admission is $22.79.
The School of Rock AllStars national summer tour will feature top students from the music academy at Tulips. The group, described as the top 1% of School of Rock students nationwide, will perform classic and modern rock songs. The concert is set for July 25 at 12:30 p.m. at 112 St. Louis Ave. Tickets are $20.14.
