Plano is about 18 miles north of Dallas. Residents and visitors in the region have a wide array of ongoing cultural, sports, and entertainment options available this weekend, ranging from immersive theater experiences to major sporting events and art exhibitions.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is currently taking center stage in North Texas. Nine matches are being held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington between June 14 and July 14. To support the tournament, two major fan festivals are running concurrently from June 11 through July 19. The FC Dallas Soccer Celebration is located at Simpson Plaza in Frisco, offering live match screenings, music, and food. Free tickets are required for entry. Simultaneously, the Dallas Fan Fest is operating at Fair Park in Dallas, providing similar match screenings and cultural experiences for global visitors.

For those interested in the science behind the sport, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas is hosting Soccer: More Than a Game. Running from March 7 to September 7, this 10,000-square-foot interactive exhibition examines the physics and strategy of soccer through STEM-focused displays. Additionally, the Frisco Heritage Museum is presenting Legends of Soccer from June 15 to December 1. This free exhibit traces World Cup history through tributes to players like Pelé and Diego Maradona, as well as iconic moments from past tournaments.

Art enthusiasts have several extended-run exhibitions to explore. At Cosm Dallas in The Colony, an immersive screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is available from May 7 to July 2. The experience utilizes 12K LED dome technology to create a themed environment inspired by the wizarding world. In McKinney, the America 250: Texas Trailblazing Wonder Women Exhibition runs from June 15 to August 30 at Millhouse. This juried show features 25 large-scale works by Texas artists honoring influential women in history. The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is also hosting Hunt Slonem: Bunnies, Birds & Butterflies from April 20 to September 30, featuring large-scale sculptures and colorful installations throughout the gardens.
