Plano has announced that the Miyako Hybrid Hotel will open its doors in late 2027. The 217-room property is designed to merge Japanese craftsmanship with Texas hospitality, targeting both business and leisure travelers. Plano is located approximately 18 miles north of Dallas.
The hotel will include 11 suites, highlighted by a signature Imperial Suite. Public areas aim to balance refined Japanese aesthetics with modern Texas comfort. Amenities listed for the property include a traditional Japanese restaurant, a Japanese bakery, an upscale lobby lounge and bar, and a rooftop dining area offering panoramic views. The facility will also provide more than 5,000 square feet of space for meetings and events.
Development of the project has spanned several years. Plans for Texas' first Miyako Hybrid Hotel were initially unveiled in 2024. The city of Plano approved economic incentives to support the project, citing its cultural significance and anticipated long-term economic impact. Construction officially commenced after developers broke ground on the site.
The hotel is positioned to reinforce Plano's existing ties with Japan. The Legacy area, where the property is located, hosts numerous Japanese companies and serves as a hub for international business. Officials view the hotel as a natural addition to the city's hospitality landscape, intended to welcome visitors with elevated service standards characteristic of Japanese hospitality.
The property is expected to complement Plano's current collection of upscale accommodations. It aims to support the city's appeal for international investment, corporate travel, and tourism.
