Alejandro Villegas, 32, of Fort Worth, has been designated the Texas Department of Public Safety’s Featured Fugitive for July. The agency increased the reward for information leading to his arrest to $6,000, provided the tip is received within the current month. Fort Worth is located approximately 31 miles west of Dallas.
Villegas is listed as a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender. According to the Department of Public Safety, he was previously arrested by Arlington police in 2017 and received a 36-month probation sentence. In 2022, Grand Prairie police took him into custody regarding a sexual assault allegation involving a 16-year-old girl, resulting in a 96-month probation term.
Authorities state that Villegas has been wanted out of Tarrant County since January for a probation violation connected to the sexual assault of a child. Additionally, Fort Worth police issued a warrant in March for his failure to register as a sex offender.
The Department of Public Safety describes Villegas as being 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds. He is believed to have ties to Arlington, Dallas, and Fort Worth.
This year, the Department of Public Safety and partner agencies have arrested 44 individuals from the Texas 10 Most Wanted lists, including fugitives, sex offenders, and undocumented immigrants. The arrests include 32 sex offenders and eight gang members. The agency reported that more than $61,000 in rewards has been distributed for tips that resulted in these arrests.
