Brown, a witness at the scene, reported hearing the gunshots and noted that the crowd immediately scattered. He and others took cover and fled the area.
Brown characterized the event as tragic but noted that such violence is not unusual for the holiday. He remarked that incidents like this occur annually during Fourth of July celebrations.
