The area is situated approximately 31 miles west of Dallas. Authorities confirmed that one individual died from their injuries and another person was hospitalized.
The incident began around 8:15 p.m. when a 911 caller reported multiple people had been shot in the vicinity. According to a police call log, the emergency response was triggered by reports of gunfire at a Fourth of July celebration. Witnesses described the event as including a DJ and a boxing match.
Observers stated that a physical altercation erupted among spectators outside the boxing ring. The fighting escalated, leading to the discharge of firearms. A.D. Brown, a witness at the scene, reported hearing the gunshots and noted that the crowd immediately scattered. He and others took cover and fled the area.
Brown characterized the event as tragic but noted that such violence is not unusual for the holiday. He remarked that incidents like this occur annually during Fourth of July celebrations. Dozens of police units and ambulances arrived at the location. Aerial support was visible overhead as the scene remained active.
