Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Tyler Smith is scheduled to have surgery on his injured thumb, according to a report by Joe Hoyt from The Dallas Morning News.
The 25-year-old player is anticipated to be sidelined for four to six weeks and is expected to be placed on injured reserve in the near future.
In Smith's absence, T.J. Bass is expected to take over as the starting left guard as the Cowboys prepare for the upcoming regular season.
