The Houston Texans have made roster adjustments by signing center Gavin Gerhardt and releasing rookie defensive tackle Dominic Bailey from their practice squad. This move was made to accommodate new quarterback Mark Gronowski, who was also added to the practice squad on September 8.
According to reports, the Texans are currently at the NFL limit for their roster, which includes international offensive tackle Max Pircher. In addition to Bailey, Ka’ena De Cambra was also released as part of these changes, following his signing just a week earlier on September 1.
Bailey's release is notable as he was previously cut during the deadline to finalize the 53-man roster but was brought back to the practice squad before this latest decision. Gerhardt, a seventh-round pick in the 2026 draft, is untested at the NFL level but was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings due to his leadership skills and football intelligence.
He started 49 games in college and is recognized for his ability to block effectively and understand protection schemes.
