Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs has signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This move marks a significant transition for Diggs, who was a two-time Pro Bowler during his time with the Cowboys.

The Seahawks have made two cornerback signings this week, including Diggs and former first-round pick Terrion Arnold, who is currently facing serious legal issues related to kidnapping and robbery charges in Florida. Diggs, at just 27 years old, has recorded 20 career interceptions and 63 passes defended, and he will be competing for a role in the Seahawks' secondary, which is currently dealing with injuries.

Diggs previously signed a five-year, $97 million extension with the Cowboys in July 2023 but faced challenges in his performance, playing in only 22 out of 51 possible regular-season games over the next three seasons. His release from the Cowboys followed a series of incidents, including an unusual accident at home that resulted in him missing eight games in 2025.

Diggs claimed the injury was caused by a television falling on his head while he was attempting to mount it.

The final decision to waive Diggs came after he requested to remain in the D.C. area with family following a Christmas Day game against the Washington Commanders, which the Cowboys denied. After being released, he was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on December 31, just one day after his departure from Dallas.

Further details regarding his role with the Seahawks and the team's plans for him have not yet been disclosed.
