All Dallas recreation centers will be closed Friday, Aug. 7, as the department uses required City furlough days that were rescheduled for late summer.

The closure applies to all Dallas recreation centers. Aquatic facilities, administrative offices and maintenance facilities will remain open Friday, according to the announcement.

The department said it strategically moved its required City furlough days to late summer to keep recreation centers fully open during the peak summer rush. The announcement said the shift was intended to ensure maximum access for residents when needed most while still meeting city requirements.

Facilities are expected to return to normal operation after Friday.

Residents planning visits to recreation facilities can check DallasParks.org for complete facility details, program schedules and real-time updates. Updates also will be available from @DallasParkRec on social media.
