The City of Dallas will implement three furlough days to address the current year's financial shortfall. On Friday, July 10, 2026, many city offices will be closed, but all emergency and other critical services will remain operational.
Service Status Updates
Emergency services, including Dallas Police, Dallas Fire-Rescue, and EMS, will maintain 24/7 operations with fully uninterrupted emergency responses. Administrative offices for these departments will be closed.
Aviation services at Love Field and Executive Airport will operate during normal hours. The 3-1-1 Customer Help Line will also remain open 24/7 for urgent city issues such as water mains and downed trees. Residents can use the 311 app for non-emergencies. The water billing line will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 214-651-1441.
Sanitation services, including recycling, garbage, and brush collection, will continue as normally scheduled. The McCommas Bluff Landfill and transfer stations will remain open during regular hours for residential self-service disposal. Dallas Animal Services, recreation centers, aquatics facilities, and golf courses will all operate during normal hours. Employees in these sectors will observe the furlough day on an alternate day.
Fair Park grounds and parking lots will remain open for the FIFA Fan Festival Dallas. The Bath House Cultural Center will be open during regular public hours, while other regional cultural centers remain closed. Municipal Court and Detention Services will operate during normal hours, with the Municipal Court building remaining open. WIC clinics will also maintain normal operating hours.
Planning and Development services will have modified hours. The Oak Cliff Municipal Center at 320 E. Jefferson and District Offices will remain open with normal operating hours. However, administrative offices at City Hall 1FN and 5BN will be closed. The City Hall building itself will be closed.
Community centers will have modified status. The West Dallas Multipurpose Center, Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, and Vital Statistics inside Dallas Central Library will be closed. Foremost Family Health Clinic and ChildCareGroup on the MLK campus will each remain open. Dallas County Older Adult Services Nutrition Program services will transition to home meal delivery for closed sites.
