Dallas ISD has started construction on Seagoville Academy, a new campus serving students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The project is funded through the 2020 bond program, which was approved by district voters. The school aims to provide educational continuity for students in the Seagoville community, allowing them to remain in the same learning environment from early childhood through middle school.

Laura Garza, regional superintendent, stated that keeping students in one community reduces transitions and helps build stronger relationships. She noted this approach allows educators to better understand the academic and socio-emotional needs of students over time. The campus will feature modern classrooms, collaborative learning spaces, advanced educational technology, reinforced security systems, and flexible environments designed to support innovative learning experiences.

Angie Gaylord, the district’s academic director, described the school as a transformative environment focused on innovation, student engagement, and future readiness. She emphasized that the purpose of these schools is to reimagine learning. "All students deserve access to an education of excellence that prepares them for college, their careers, and life beyond the classroom," she said.

Brent Alfred, chief of Construction Services, explained that the project represents more than just a new building. "It is about building opportunities, creating hope, and providing students with spaces where they can discover who they are and who they can become," he said. District leaders view the project as an investment in the future of one of the fastest-growing communities within Dallas ISD.

State Representative Prisma Y. García called Seagoville Academy a promise to families. She noted that communities like Seagoville are experiencing real changes and new opportunities. "We are building paths for future teachers, doctors, engineers, artists, entrepreneurs, and leaders," she said.
