Dallas ISD emergent bilingual students outperformed state averages at all three performance levels across every subject on the 2025-2026 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness for grades 3-8 and End-of-Course assessments, according to results shared during a recent board meeting.
The district reported gains across reading, math, science and social studies. Across all subjects, scores rose from 63% to 66% at Approaches, compared with the state average of 59%; from 37% to 40% at Meets, compared with 31% statewide; and from 13% to 15% at Masters, compared with 10% statewide.
In reading, from grade 3 to English 2, scores moved from 61% to 64% at Approaches, 40% to 41% at Meets and 14% to 15% at Masters. State averages were 57%, 32% and 9%. In math, from grade 3 to Algebra 1, scores rose from 65% to 67% at Approaches and 37% to 39% at Meets, while Masters was maintained at 15%.
