The Dallas-Fort Worth region is bracing for a hot, humid, and potentially rainy Fourth of July weekend, coinciding with America’s 250th birthday celebrations. The National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office has issued forecasts indicating high temperatures and significant heat indices throughout the holiday period. Fort Worth is located approximately 31 miles west of Dallas.

Forecast data shows Friday will reach a high of 98 degrees with a low of 78, while the heat index is expected to hit 101 degrees. Independence Day itself, July 4, is predicted to see near-100-degree conditions, with a high of 99 degrees. The weekend concludes on Sunday with a high of 98 and a heat index of 102. KXAS-TV (NBC5) provided additional details, noting that Saturday will feature partly sunny skies, a low of 80, and a high of 98, with south winds blowing at 10 to 15 mph. Sunday is expected to be partly cloudy and very warm, with a high of 97 and south winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Precipitation is not the primary concern, but residents should remain aware of the possibility of showers. The weather service indicated that Friday, Saturday, and Sunday all carry a slight chance of isolated, non-severe thunderstorms. The probability of precipitation is projected to peak on Sunday at 15 percent. Humidity levels and partly cloudy skies are anticipated to persist through the weekend.

Looking ahead, KXAS-TV reported that Monday will bring partly cloudy skies, a low of 78, and a high of 97, with a 20 percent chance for an isolated storm. Tuesday and Wednesday are forecast to be sunny with clouds, featuring highs of 96 and 98 degrees respectively, and lows around 79 degrees. Winds for the extended period are expected to remain from the south at 5 to 10 mph.

With temperatures remaining elevated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued recommendations for staying safe in the heat. Officials advise drinking ample water, seeking shade when possible, and wearing hats and sunscreen. The CDC also suggests limiting the consumption of caffeine and alcohol, noting that these substances can contribute to dehydration. Further details on specific local events or festival schedules were not included in the weather report.
