Authorities have increased the financial incentive for tips leading to the capture of Alejandro Villegas, a registered sex offender from Fort Worth, to $6,000 for the month of July. Villegas is currently listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety’s most wanted fugitives roster.
The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and local police have sought Villegas since January after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation. His legal troubles trace back to original charges involving the sexual assault of a child. In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued a warrant for his arrest after he failed to comply with mandatory sex offender registration requirements.
Villegas, 32, is described by officials as standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He is known to have ties to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas. Fort Worth is located about 31 miles west of Dallas.
His criminal history includes a 2017 arrest by Arlington police for robbery, which resulted in a 36-month probation sentence. In 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old. He was subsequently convicted of that offense and sentenced to 96 months of probation.
Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides cash rewards for information that leads to the arrest of individuals on the state’s top ten lists for fugitives, sex offenders, and undocumented immigrants. The current lists are available on the Department of Public Safety website.
