Voters in Dallas County can cast ballots during the early voting period for the upcoming primary runoff election from May 16 through May 20. The runoff election itself is scheduled for May 24, with winners advancing to the general election on November 8.

Polling locations in Dallas County will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the five-day early voting window. Specific polling places for the area are available through local election resources.

The ballot includes contests for three statewide Republican offices and four statewide Democratic offices, alongside several local and county-level races. In Dallas County, voters will also decide on positions including county clerk, county commissioners, and judgeships.

Under Texas state law, participation in the runoff is tied to the March 1 primary. Voters who selected a party ballot in the primary must vote in that same party’s runoff. Individuals who did not vote in the March primary are permitted to choose either the Republican or Democratic runoff ballot.

Texas Secretary of State John Scott issued a news release encouraging voters to review the candidates. He noted that the individuals on the ballot have reached the final stage of their respective party primaries and urged residents to research the candidates before voting.

For voters in the Lake Highlands-Lakewood area of Dallas, the following candidates appear on the ballot:

Statewide Republican contests include lieutenant governor, attorney general, commissioner of the General Land Office, and railroad commissioner. Incumbents Ken Paxton and Wayne Christian are among the Republican candidates.

Statewide Democratic contests feature attorney general, comptroller of public accounts, and commissioner of the General Land Office. Michelle Beckley and Mike Collier are running for lieutenant governor.

Local races include U.S. House of Representatives District 30, where James Harris and James Rodgers are running for Republicans, and Jasmine Crockett and Jane Hope Hamilton are running for Democrats. Texas state representative District 100 features Sandra Crenshaw and Venton C. Jones. District 114 includes Alexandra Guio and John Bryant.

U.S. House of Representatives District 32 Republican candidates are Antonio Swad and Justin Webb. Dallas County races include County Criminal Court No. 10 judge, county clerk, county commissioner for Precinct 2, and justice of the peace for Precincts 2 and 5.
