Alejandro Villegas, a registered sex offender residing in Fort Worth, has been added to the Texas Department of Public Safety’s most wanted list. The state agency announced the placement following a news release detailing his status as a fugitive. The reward for information resulting in his capture has been increased to $6,000 for the month of July.

Villegas, 32, has been sought by Tarrant County authorities since January. His current warrant stems from a probation violation linked to original charges of sexually assaulting a child. In March, the Fort Worth Police Department issued an additional arrest warrant after he failed to comply with sex offender registration requirements.

Authorities describe Villegas as approximately 6 feet tall and weighing around 185 pounds. He is known to have connections to Fort Worth, Arlington, and Dallas. Fort Worth is located about 31 miles west of Dallas.

The press release outlines a history of prior legal issues. In 2017, Arlington police arrested him on robbery charges, resulting in a 36-month probation sentence. Five years later, in 2022, Grand Prairie police arrested him for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old. He was convicted of that offense and sentenced to 96 months of probation.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, provides cash rewards for tips leading to the arrest of individuals on the state’s 10 most wanted lists for fugitives, sex offenders, and criminal illegal immigrants. The current lists are available on the Department of Public Safety website.

Individuals with information are encouraged to submit anonymous tips through several channels. Tips can be filed by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477). Alternatively, tips may be submitted via the Department of Public Safety website by selecting the fugitive’s profile and clicking the link beneath their image. Tips can also be submitted through the Texas 10 Most Wanted Facebook page by clicking the “SUBMIT A TIP” button in the about section.

Details regarding the specific location where Villegas may be currently hiding are not yet clear. Further information about the status of his probation or any upcoming court dates is also not provided in the release.
