Fort Worth is about 31 miles west of Dallas. Recent municipal health inspections have uncovered significant sanitation issues at multiple local dining establishments, including evidence of pest infestations and improper food storage temperatures.
Data compiled from 134 inspections conducted between June 7 and June 20 highlights the severity of the findings. The city utilizes a demerit-based scoring system where a perfect score is zero. Establishments that accumulate more than 30 demerits must address the most critical violations immediately and begin corrective procedures for all other issues within 48 hours.
Among the most serious findings was rodent contamination at Caleto Bar & Grill, located at 3468 Blue Bonnet Circle. Inspectors noted rodent debris in the kitchen area and cheese stored near the contamination. The establishment received a score of 23.
Roach activity was documented at three separate locations. At Acapulco Restaurant, situated at 1320 NW 25th St., inspectors observed a single roach alongside heavy fly activity, resulting in a score of 20. Birrieria Tres Coronas, located at 50 E. Seminary Drive, had a dead cockroach found in the corner of its walk-in cooler, earning a score of 19. Additionally, Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine at 4259 Bryant Irvin Road had a dead roach discovered near the back door.
Other violations included temperature control failures and cross-contamination risks. Dos Molina’s, at 404 NW 25th St., received a score of 23 after inspectors found raw beef stored above cooked chicken. The inspection also revealed that tomatoes, cheese, cooked chicken, and beef were held between 48 and 51 degrees, exceeding safe limits, along with issues regarding sanitizer concentration.
