Residents in Valley View, Texas, are being urged to conserve water following a malfunction at one of the city’s water wells. City officials announced that repairs commenced on Thursday and are anticipated to last one to two days.
While the city’s reserve water tanks are currently at capacity, officials are asking residents to limit their water use to ensure enough supply for household needs, public safety, and emergency services throughout the repair process.
To support this effort, the city has enacted several restrictions. These include prohibiting the watering of lawns, landscaping, or gardens, as well as the filling or refilling of swimming pools and hot tubs. Washing vehicles is only permitted when necessary for public safety or commercial purposes, and residents are advised against cleaning driveways and other paved areas.
Cooke County Emergency Services noted that while contractors estimate the repair duration, this timeline could change. They do not foresee any boil water notices at present but will keep the public informed if circumstances evolve. Officials stressed that avoiding unnecessary water use is crucial to managing the situation effectively.
Princeton is about 33 miles northeast of Dallas.
