Dallas City Offices and Libraries Close for Labor Day 2026

The City of Dallas has announced that various municipal departments and facilities will close on Monday, September 7, 2026, in observance of Labor Day. All City offices will be closed for the holiday, with normal business operations resuming on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Sanitation services will continue as scheduled. All collections, including recycling, garbage, and brush or bulky item collection, will proceed normally. The McCommas Bluff Landfill and transfer stations will also remain open during regular hours for residential self-service disposal. Residents can visit dsan.us/disposalinfo for specific hours and additional details.

Dallas Animal Services administrative offices will be closed, but the shelter will operate during normal business hours. Animal Services Officers will continue to respond to resident service requests through the 3-1-1 line. The 3-1-1 Customer Help Line will remain available for service-related calls, such as water main breaks, downed trees, signal light issues, and animal control matters.

Water Customer Service will be closed, but customers can submit requests online or via the Dallas 311 mobile app.

Municipal Court will be closed on Monday. Full payment of fines will be accepted at the Dallas Marshal’s Office at 1600 Chestnut, Dallas, TX 75226, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Postmarks will be honored for payments sent by mail, and online options are available for court date requests or payments.

Dallas Water Utilities administrative and customer service offices will be closed. Emergency water service requests should be directed to 3-1-1, while non-emergency requests can be submitted online or through the mobile app.

Parks and Recreation administrative offices, recreation centers, and maintenance facilities will be closed. All Dallas Public Library locations will also be closed, though residents can access digital resources 24/7 at DallasLibrary.org. The Office of Arts and Culture administrative offices and cultural centers will be closed for the holiday.
