One critically injured after vehicle shot at on Dallas avenue

Dallas police responded to a shooting on Maryland Avenue Tuesday night that left one person with critical injuries after their van was struck by gunfire and crashed.

Dallas law enforcement is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Tuesday evening in the 3000 block of Maryland Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene shortly before 9 p.m. to find a van that had sustained multiple bullet impacts and subsequently collided with a stationary vehicle.

Emergency responders located one individual inside the damaged van. That person was taken to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition, according to police reports.

Investigators have not yet released information regarding the motive behind the attack or whether the occupants of the vehicle were specifically targeted. The circumstances leading up to the gunfire remain unclear at this time.

No other injuries were reported, and no arrests have been made. Police have not provided further details on the investigation.
