Fort Worth Police Crash Involves Intoxicated Driver

An intoxicated driver collided with a Fort Worth police vehicle responding with lights and sirens, resulting in injuries to the driver and officers.

Fort Worth is about 31 miles west of Dallas.

An intoxicated driver caused a collision with a Fort Worth Police Department vehicle on Thursday night, according to city officials. The incident occurred at an intersection where the police unit was traveling with activated lights and sirens.

Authorities stated that the driver of the other vehicle failed to yield right of way, leading to the crash. Police identified the driver as being under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The individual was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment before being moved to the Tarrant County jail. Law enforcement has not released the driver's identity.

The two Fort Worth officers involved in the crash were evaluated by medical personnel at the scene. Both were cleared and released. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision is ongoing.
