Dallas, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks have appointed Jennifer Ridgeway as chief impact officer, a role focused on the club’s community and philanthropic work.
Ridgeway arrives from the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx, where she held leadership posts that included the same title. Sports Business Journal reported that she will report to Mavericks President Ethan Casson.
The two sources say she will oversee the club’s corporate social-responsibility strategy, its charitable initiatives and its community-engagement work. The appointment is an executive move rather than a roster or game development.
For Dallas, the move places a new executive in charge of the Mavericks’ public-facing community portfolio as the franchise prepares for its next season.
