Lee homers twice as Giants beat Rangers 5-1 at Globe Life Field

Lee powers San Francisco

Two home runs from Lee gave San Francisco the biggest swings in a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Globe Life Field.

Lee homered to right center in the third inning, a 410-foot shot that made it 3-0, then went deep again to right center in the eighth, this time for 385 feet and a 4-0 lead. He also added a sacrifice fly in the ninth, when McCray scored to push San Francisco ahead 5-0.

Giants build the lead

San Francisco scored first in the second inning. Gilbert singled to right, and Susac scored on a fielding error by right fielder Nimmo as Gilbert moved to third. Basabe followed with a sacrifice fly to right that brought in Gilbert for a 2-0 lead.

The score stayed 2-0 until Lee’s first homer in the third. His second homer in the eighth and sacrifice fly in the ninth accounted for San Francisco’s final two runs. There were exactly three home runs in the game, with Lee hitting two of them.

Webb controls Texas lineup

Logan Webb worked 6.0 scoreless innings for San Francisco, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out eight. Webb earned the win and moved to 7-7.

Keaton Winn followed with 0.2 innings, allowing one hit with no walks and one strikeout, and was credited with his 12th hold. Sam Hentges recorded his seventh hold after pitching 1.1 innings with no hits allowed, one walk and one strikeout.

Tristan Beck allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk in 0.1 innings. Reiver Sanmartin finished with 0.2 innings, allowing no hits, no earned runs and no walks.

Texas gets one in the ninth

Texas scored its only run in the bottom of the ninth when Duran homered to left, a 406-foot drive that made it 5-1.

Cal Quantrill took the loss for Texas, falling to 4-4. He pitched 6.0 innings and allowed four hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out four. Ben Peoples pitched 1.0 scoreless inning, Peyton Gray allowed one earned run in 1.0 inning, and Nolan Kingham allowed one earned run in 1.0 inning.

The attendance was 23,736. Texas fell to 55-58, while San Francisco improved to 48-65.
