Five pitchers finish a shutout
Five Texas pitchers combined on a shutout Wednesday, August 5, 2026, as the Rangers beat the Giants 6-0 at Globe Life Field.
Cody Bradford worked 4 1/3 innings, allowing five hits and two walks while striking out five. Tyler Alexander pitched 1 2/3 innings without allowing a hit or a walk and struck out three to earn the win, improving to 2-2.
Texas also got one inning from Robby Ahlstrom, who allowed one hit, no earned runs and no walks with one strikeout. Chase Silseth pitched one inning, allowing one hit and one walk with one strikeout. Cole Winn pitched one inning, allowing one hit with no walks and no strikeouts.
Texas breaks through in the third
The Rangers did their early scoring in the bottom of the third. Langford scored when Nimmo singled to right, giving Texas a 1-0 lead. Foscue then tripled to left, bringing in Nimmo and Burger to make it 3-0.
Díaz followed with a double to left that scored Foscue, stretching the lead to 4-0. Carson Whisenhunt took the loss for the Giants, falling to 2-3 after allowing five hits, four earned runs and three walks with four strikeouts in 3 1/3 innings.
