Osuna's Power Surge
A three-run home run by Osuna anchored a five-run eighth inning that propelled the Texas Rangers to an 8-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday at Globe Life Field. The power display proved decisive in a game where the Rangers overcame an early deficit to secure their 46th win of the season.
Osuna’s shot, which traveled 364 feet to right field, capped a rally that turned a 3-3 tie into an insurmountable lead. With runners on base, the long ball provided the separation needed for Texas to pull away. The Rangers had already taken a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning before the Angels tied the game, making the eighth-inning explosion critical.
Rangers Take Early Lead
The Rangers jumped out to an early advantage in the first inning. Soler doubled to left field, allowing Schanuel to score from first base. Lowe followed with a single to center field, bringing Soler home to make it 2-0. The Angels responded in the second inning when Lopez singled to left, driving in Carter and Osuna to level the score at 2-2.
The game remained tight through six innings of pitching. Los Angeles Angels starter Jose Soriano worked six innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits while striking out four batters. For Texas, Jacob deGrom pitched five innings, giving up two earned runs on five hits and striking out seven.
Tie Game and Late Rally
The Rangers regained the lead in the seventh when Meckler singled to left, scoring Peraza to make it 3-2. However, the Angels tied the game later in the inning when Foscue homered 387 feet to left field.
