Nimmo Drives Home Three in Decisive Frame
Brandon Nimmo produced the decisive offensive output for the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, delivering two key hits that drove in three runs during the 10th inning. His performance helped Texas snap a five-game road skid with a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium.
The game remained tightly contested through nine innings before Nimmo’s efforts broke it open. The Rangers, who batted in the top half of each inning as the visiting team, trailed 1-0 until the fourth frame when they finally drew first blood. A single by Díaz allowed Duran to cross the plate, tying the score at 1-1.
Reid Detmers started for Los Angeles, pitching six innings while surrendering one earned run on three hits. He recorded six strikeouts but walked four batters before being relieved. Jose Fermin and Tayler Saucedo provided relief, followed by Ben Joyce who pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout. Samy Natera Jr. closed out the ninth inning with two strikeouts.
Rangers Bullpen Holds Lead in Extra Frames
The game extended into extra innings after neither team could score in the top of the 10th. With the bases loaded and one out, Nimmo singled to right field, allowing Lopez to score and making it 2-1 for Texas. Seager advanced to second and Langford to third on the play.
Nimmo remained at second base before Burger delivered a two-run single to right, scoring both Langford and Seager to extend the Rangers' lead to 4-1. This inning proved decisive as the Angels could not respond.
