The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entire 2026 NFL season following a torn ACL injury sustained during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported the news on Wednesday, citing sources.

Higgins, a second-year player and the 34th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a productive rookie season, recording 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. His performance improved significantly after Tank Dell's injury late in the 2024 season, which elevated Higgins' role in the Texans' offense.

In 2025, Higgins became a key target for quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially during a nine-game winning streak where he saw an increase in target share. He scored four of his six touchdowns in the final weeks of the season and had notable performances in Weeks 13 and 17.

With Higgins sidelined, the Texans will rely on players such as Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to help fill the gap in their receiving corps. The team remains hopeful that Tank Dell can return to action at some point during the season, although his recovery timeline is not yet clear.
