Dalton Schultz, along with offensive starters Nico Collins and David Montgomery, did not play in any of the Houston Texans' three preseason games. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited action during the exhibition, particularly in the game against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a successful 2025 regular season, where he achieved a career-high 82 receptions and recorded 777 receiving yards, marking his best performance since his time with the Cowboys in 2021. The Texans will be without Jayden Higgins for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury, and Tank Dell is starting the season on injured reserve.
With these injuries, Schultz and Collins are expected to be key targets for Stroud in the upcoming season, as the team looks to establish a strong passing game.
