The Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints have each received a $500,000 fine from the NFL due to a brawl that occurred during their joint practice on Tuesday. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported from the incident.

The NFL issued a statement emphasizing the importance of sportsmanship, particularly during joint practices, and reminded all teams of their responsibility to prevent unsportsmanlike conduct that could lead to injuries.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones expressed his understanding of the league's decision but announced plans to appeal the fine. He described the penalty as "pretty stiff" and acknowledged that the violent actions during the practice were not representative of what the teams want to convey to their fans.

Jones indicated that if the fine is upheld, he would also impose fines on the individual players involved in the brawl. Notable players included Cowboys linebacker Donovan Ezeiruaku, who was involved in a physical altercation with Saints offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga, and Saints rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner, who engaged in multiple confrontations, including a notable move against Cowboys safety Jalen Thompson.

Further details regarding the appeal process and any potential player fines were not yet clear.
