The Dallas Cowboys have officially reduced their roster from 91 players to 53 as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. This initial roster is expected to evolve as the team works on finalizing their practice squad and may see further personnel changes in the two weeks leading up to their season opener.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer noted that the decision-making process for roster cuts was particularly challenging this year due to the team's increased depth and talent. He emphasized that the Cowboys are a "deeper, better, more talented football team," making the cuts more difficult for the coaching staff.

The finalized 53-man roster includes three quarterbacks: Dak Prescott, Joe Milton, and Sam Howell. The running back group consists of Javonte Williams, Malik Davis, and Hunter Luepke. The wide receiver lineup features CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Ryan Flournoy, KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, and Camden Brown.

On the offensive line, the Cowboys have selected nine players, including Tyler Guyton, Tyler Smith, and Cooper Beebe. The defensive lineup includes five defensive tackles, six outside linebackers/edge rushers, four linebackers, five cornerbacks, and six safeties. The special teams unit is comprised of three specialists: Brandon Aubrey, Bryan Anger, and Trent Sieg.

In addition to the active roster, several players have been designated for reserve status, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore, who are set to return later in the season. Further details regarding any additional roster moves or transactions are not yet clear.
