Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott did not take the field during the team's three-game preseason schedule. This decision comes as he prepares for the upcoming 2026 season.

Since 2020, Prescott has had wide receiver CeeDee Lamb as a key target, and the addition of George Pickens in the 2025 offseason further enhances his receiving options. Last season, Prescott achieved the second-highest passing yard total of his 10-year career, amassing 4,552 yards while throwing 30 touchdown passes on a career-high 600 attempts.

The Cowboys are likely looking to reduce Prescott's reliance on high passing attempts by establishing a more balanced offensive strategy. With a new defensive scheme under coordinator Christian Parker, it is anticipated that Prescott may find himself in fewer catch-up situations during games. Given the strong receiving duo of Lamb and Pickens, another season exceeding 4,000 passing yards appears feasible for Prescott in 2026.
