DJ Lagway is set to make his debut for Baylor in a highly anticipated matchup against Auburn during the season opener, taking place at a neutral site in Atlanta. This game marks the beginning of the 2026 college football season for both teams.

Baylor concluded the previous season with a record of 5-7, following a close 31-24 defeat to Houston. In contrast, Auburn also finished with a 5-7 record after losing 27-20 to Alabama.

In terms of player statistics, Baylor's Sawyer Robertson threw for 3,681 yards, achieving 31 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, with a completion percentage of 60.3.
