Texas law enforcement officials confirmed the apprehension of three individuals who were listed on the Texas Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders roster. The arrests occurred in separate operations across the state, involving local, state, and federal agencies.
In south Houston, 53-year-old Leroy Lewis Jr. was taken into custody on June 22 at a residential address. The operation was conducted by DPS special agents from the Texas Anti-Gang Center alongside the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Houston Police Department, and the Texas attorney general's Fugitive Apprehension Unit. Lewis had been wanted since March on a Harris County warrant for failing to comply with sex offender registration rules. He was previously convicted in the 1990s of murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated kidnapping involving a 20-year-old woman. He served a 35-year sentence, was paroled in 2012, and was required to register as a sex offender.
In Plano, which is about 18 miles north of Dallas, 64-year-old Kenneth Wayne Patterson was arrested on June 24 at an apartment complex. Investigators acted on a tip that led to the capture. DPS special agents, Plano police, and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force participated in the arrest. Patterson had been wanted since December 2025 on a Dallas County warrant for failing to register. He was convicted in Dallas County in 1989 of sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl and sentenced to eight years in prison. Authorities noted a history of failing to comply with registration requirements.
In Hidalgo, 32-year-old Eduardo Quinones Fuentes was arrested on June 22 at the McAllen-Hidalgo International Bridge. U.S. authorities took him into custody after he returned from Mexico. DPS identified Fuentes as a documented Tango Valluco gang member who had fled to Mexico. He was wanted since October 2025 on parole violation and obstruction warrants, with a Hidalgo County warrant for failing to register issued in November 2025. Since 2016, Fuentes has been convicted of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, sexual assault, assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and human smuggling.
