The Republican National Committee will hold its first-ever midterm convention at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on September 9 and 10. President Donald Trump is scheduled to attend both days and deliver the keynote address on Thursday night, while Vice President JD Vance will speak on Wednesday night.
The organization states that approximately 20,000 attendees are expected, marking the largest convention in the past decade.
The event agenda includes more than 100 speakers who will discuss topics such as election integrity, public safety, and tax cuts for workers and families. Organizers also plan to highlight efforts to reduce waste and fraud, as well as policy differences between the Republican and Democratic parties.
Three North Texas Republicans shared their perspectives on the event ahead of the convention. Jennifer Stoddard Hoydu, former chair of the Dallas County Republican Party, described the gathering as a chance to energize the party base. She emphasized the need for high voter turnout in the upcoming midterms, noting that complacency could lead to a loss of momentum and control over statewide offices.
"We have to act like Trump's on the ballot," she said.
