The Dallas Stars are reportedly planning to transfer their game broadcasts from the Victory+ platform to Amazon Prime Video, with the change expected to take effect at the start of the current season. While the organization has declined to provide an official statement, multiple sources informed DLLS Sports of the intended shift.
Reports also suggest that one additional platform may be involved in the distribution deal, though this has not been confirmed.
This move aligns with a broader trend of teams and content leaving Victory+ in recent months. The Texas Rangers have already departed for BZZR, and the Anaheim Ducks are set to end their contract in July. Additionally, several early-season high school football games were recently removed from the service.
These departures have often been linked to reports of missed payments and financial concerns surrounding the platform.
If the Stars complete the transition, they would join the Seattle Kraken as the only NHL teams currently broadcasting on Amazon Prime Video. The games would not be available for free, but they would be included within the existing Amazon Prime subscription. This structure means viewers who already hold a Prime account would not need to purchase a separate subscription to watch the team.
Amazon has increased its involvement in the NHL over the past two years, offering weekly broadcasts in Canada and producing the series “FACEOFF: Inside the NHL.” Several Dallas Stars players were previously cut from that production. The team is also scheduled to appear on national television 13 times this season, a schedule announced by the NHL and the Stars last week.
