Sazon De Loa, a Mexican restaurant on Renner Road in Plano, is actively recruiting employees following an unexpected surge in patronage. The influx of customers began after a video posted by the owner’s 15-year-old daughter, Leslie De Loa, gained significant traction online. Plano is located approximately 18 miles north of Dallas.
Prior to the viral attention, the establishment faced severe financial difficulties. Owner and chef Rafael De Loa stated that the business was nearly forced to close due to a lack of customers. Leslie De Loa recorded a message asking for support, noting that her family’s business was struggling to attract patrons despite her father’s hard work. She invited the community to visit for food and drinks.
The video was amplified by TikToker Bucky Wild Child, who has more than 110,000 followers. After visiting the restaurant earlier in the week, he shared the plea, which led to a dramatic increase in foot traffic. By Thursday lunchtime, the restaurant was filled with diners.
Customers traveled from various distances to support the business. Jhazmin Martinez said she saw the video and decided to visit for a date night. Jesus Martinez praised the food as delicious. Other patrons, including Diego Osorio and C.J. Nelson, acknowledged the long wait times but expressed willingness to endure them for quality meals. Nelson described the situation as a good problem for the owners.
Rafael De Loa described the turnaround as a miracle. He explained that the previous lack of business meant there were no tips, which discouraged staff from working. Now, he is working extended hours to manage the demand. Leslie De Loa expressed amazement at the community’s response, noting that people took time off their days to visit.
