The Fort Worth Police Department has shared data regarding its collaboration with the United States Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force Delta Team. The department published these figures in a social media post on July 2, highlighting the results of their joint efforts to apprehend fugitives involved in violent crimes.
Between February 20 and June 20, the partnership resulted in the arrest of individuals linked to more than 226 violent felony fugitive cases. Among those apprehended during this specific window, twenty people are facing murder charges. The department noted that the broader partnership, which began in January, has led to the clearance of 402 violent warrants through arrest.
The composition of the Delta Team includes deputy marshals, officers from the Fort Worth Police Department, and personnel from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In its July 2 update, the department stated that the team works daily to remove dangerous individuals from the community to enhance public safety.
The release of these statistics follows recent investigations into two separate shootings that occurred in early June. On June 6, police responded to a shooting in the area of 5310 E. Rosedale St. during the Stop 6 Day celebration, which took place in front of Smokey's Food Mart.
A second incident occurred on June 12 on Prickly Pine Trail in the Sycamore Landing neighborhood. According to the department, two individuals approached a residence and fired into the home while people were inside. Further details regarding the status of these specific investigations were not provided in the July 2 release.
