The Connection held its flagship annual event, I’m New Here Dallas, on August 22, 2026. The gathering aimed to foster community among women in the Dallas-Fort Worth area by providing networking opportunities and resources for both newcomers and long-term residents.
Founded by Natalie Arlo, The Connection is a platform designed to help women who have recently moved to Dallas connect, grow, and thrive through shared experiences and relationships. The organization recognized that starting over in a large, fast-growing city can be isolating, prompting the creation of this annual event to combat that isolation.
The day featured keynote speaker Cherise Janelle and various panel discussions focused on professional growth and personal purpose. Sessions included topics such as Soft Life and Success, a Dallas Insider conversation, connection circles, and breakout discussions. The event also highlighted Viola’s House, recognizing the work of local organizations supporting the community.
Supported by more than 20 partners, the gathering provided resources to help attendees build meaningful local connections. Kyla Williams, head of partnerships and community relations, noted that seeing organizations believe in the mission was a rewarding aspect of producing the event.
