Plano, located approximately 18 miles north of Dallas, has seen the arrival of three new dining establishments and has two more scheduled to open in the coming months. The new openings feature a range of cuisines, from Chinese smokehouse fare to Southern fried chicken and Greek specialties.
Yang’s Smokehouse began operations on June 19 at 240 Legacy Drive, Suite 306. The menu highlights meat skewers, including sliced beef, pork belly, lamb, and chicken wings. Diners can also order grilled vegetables, fried rice, stir-fry dishes, noodles, and ribs. An "Adventurous Eats" section of the menu includes spicy roasted pig brain.
A second new venue opened on June 17 at 2104 Preston Road. This establishment focuses on Southern fried chicken and offers five distinct spice levels, ranging from mild to a level described as "Shut the Cluck Up!" Guests who prefer non-spicy options can choose classic fried chicken or dishes with a sweet and smoky dry rub. Popular items include a classic chicken sandwich with custom sauce and pickles, as well as "dirty bird fries" topped with pimento mac and cheese. Dessert selections feature banana pudding, peach cobbler, and a waffle sundae.
The third recently opened location launched on June 13 at 5973 West Parker Road. Situated in the West Plano Village development near Parker Road and the Dallas North Tollway, the business occupies the space previously held by Kona Grill, which closed in June 2025. The new tenant will serve wings and sandwiches.
Looking ahead, a fourth restaurant is set to open in September 2026 at 1016 E. 15th St. This location, which already has a presence in Anna, specializes in Greek cuisine. The menu features Kalamakia, or Greek meat skewers made with chicken, pork, lamb, or vegetables. Other offerings include soups, salads, gyros, and wraps.
