Neto Delivers Five-Hit Night

Neto was the primary catalyst for Los Angeles, delivering a standout offensive performance against the Houston Astros. The Angels outfielder went 5-for-the-game with seven runs batted in, including two extra-base hits and one home run. His power display included a 428-foot blast to center field in the fifth inning that extended the lead, followed by an eighth-inning double to center that scored two more runs.

Scoring Spree Continues

The Angels established early momentum with a first-inning run on a Neto single to right field. Houston responded briefly when Alvarez scored on a wild pitch by Rodriguez, but Los Angeles quickly regained control. The offense exploded in the second inning behind singles from Grissom and sacrifice efforts from Heineman, while an overturned challenge on a ground ball allowed Lowe to score.

The fourth inning proved decisive. After a double by Frazier, Neto singled again to load the bases. Ballesteros followed with a single that drove in two runs, and Grissom added another double to bring in two more, turning a 4-2 lead into a 10-2 advantage.

The Angels continued to add runs in the fifth inning when Schanuel scored on a fielder's choice and Neto’s home run brought in two more.

Pitching Dominance

Grayson Rodriguez earned the win for Los Angeles, pitching seven scoreless innings. He allowed five hits and two walks while striking out six batters, maintaining a perfect record against earned runs. Blake Weiman closed out the game with two innings of work, giving up one earned run on three hits and recording three strikeouts.

For Houston, Peter Lambert took the loss after allowing nine earned runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings. Bryan King struggled in relief, surrendering five earned runs on five hits in just over one inning. Tatsuya Imai pitched three innings, giving up two earned runs, while LaMonte Wade Jr. allowed two earned runs in his single inning of work.

Final Score and Records

The game concluded with an 18-3 final score at Daikin Park in Houston, Texas, before a crowd of 20,934 fans. With the victory, Los Angeles improved its record to 51-77 for the season. Houston fell to .500 at 64-64.
