Dallas, Texas — The Dallas Mavericks have retained center Moussa Cissé after matching a two-year offer sheet he had signed with the New York Knicks.
ESPN reported July 19 that the offer sheet was worth $4.7 million over two years and that Dallas matched before the deadline. The agreement prevents a trade without Cissé’s consent for one year.
The Mavericks’ July 22 announcement described Cissé’s new agreement as multi-year; the team did not release terms. In his rookie season, he appeared in 38 games and averaged 4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.2 blocks in 13.9 minutes.
Cissé also played 15 regular-season games for the Texas Legends, Dallas’ G League affiliate, where the Mavericks said he averaged 14.7 points, 13.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks.
