During his time at Alabama, Braswell recorded eight sacks and ten tackles for loss, stepping in for Will Anderson Jr. in the Jack linebacker position. However, after two seasons with the Buccaneers, where he struggled to secure a starting position and produced only two and a half sacks, he was released amid concerns about his performance and potential.
Braswell's lack of a developed pass rush strategy and limited production contributed to his departure from Tampa Bay, especially as the team sought to improve its defensive lineup. He missed significant preseason games and was outperformed by teammates, which ultimately led to his release.
Now in Houston, Braswell reunites with former Alabama teammate Will Anderson Jr. and Logan Hall, who previously played for the Buccaneers. He will focus on adapting to the Texans' 4-3 defensive scheme, which emphasizes setting the edge and rushing the passer, a shift from his previous roles.
The Texans are currently dealing with injuries at the defensive end position, which may provide Braswell with an opportunity to elevate to the active roster.
