Fort Worth is approximately 30 miles from Dallas.

Texas Christian University has officially added Northwestern State to its 2028 football schedule. The matchup will occur at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth on Saturday, September 2, 2028. According to a contract secured via public records request, TCU will pay the Demons a $600,000 guarantee for the appearance.

This contest marks the second time these two programs have met on the gridiron. Their previous encounter took place in 2001, when Northwestern State defeated TCU 27-24 in overtime. The addition of this game completes TCU's non-conference slate for the upcoming season.

Prior to playing the Demons, the Horned Frogs will open at home against Louisiana on August 26 and travel to Duke on September 9.

Northwestern State University is located in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and competes in the Southland Conference within the Football Championship Subdivision. The team is currently coached by Blaine McCorkle and has begun its season with losses to Louisiana Christian and Louisiana Tech. In addition to the TCU game, Northwestern State is scheduled to host Central Arkansas on September 16, 2028.

While the Big 12 Conference has not yet released specific conference opponents for 2028, TCU is projected to play five home games and four road games that year.
