Dallas ISD will host a back-to-school celebration and registration event on Saturday, August 11, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ellis Davis Field House. The event is designed to assist parents with the enrollment process for the upcoming academic year.

Families can receive in-person assistance with registering their children for grades pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Students who complete their registration during this event will receive school supplies and authorized backpacks, while supplies last. The district notes that inventory is limited.

To complete the enrollment process, parents must present specific documentation. Required items include a birth certificate for new students, a photo ID for the parent or legal guardian, proof of residency, and a vaccination record. A Social Security card is optional.

For families enrolling children in pre-kindergarten, additional documentation may be required to determine eligibility. These documents include proof of income, a letter of benefits for Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF, foster care documentation, military service documentation, or documentation for the Star of Texas program. The district clarifies that not every student will need all of these specific documents.

Parents seeking further details regarding the school supply list, the Dallas ISD transparent backpack policy, and other enrollment information are directed to the district's official website. The event provides a centralized location for families to finalize administrative requirements before the start of the school term.
